Air! All animals need air, so we'll look at a few and see how they get their air! (All of the animals listed below are fish, or other animals living in water)
The Sea Anemone!
Since these amazing animals live in deep water, or shallow water, they have a task to accomplish! Breathing. So God created them with an easy solution: They breathe through their entire body surface! A more "professional" way to say that is: Sea Anemones receive air through passive diffusion all over the surface of their bodies!

Blue Whales are a huge creature. They live in the water, because no bone could hold up their massive weight on land. So how do these gigantic animals breathe?
Quite handy for the Blue Whale, it has been equipped with a breathing hole-a blow hole, more scientifically ;)
But, one way it has been created to help it get air, and food at the same time is that it can hold its breath for over 30 min., thus enabling it to dive deep and long for food.

The Mako Shark! (short finned)
This is the worlds fastest shark-it can jump about 20 feet into the air, and can swim up to 74 km per hour, while some scientists are guessing it can go up to 100 km per hour, although this has never actually been recorded.
Sharks are fish, and fish breathe through gills. Since the shark can't move its gills, (except for a few exceptions of some types of sharks) it constantly has to keep moving-or it suffocates.

Sea Turtles are beautiful creatures. But how do they manage to breathe-they don't have gills.......
Sea Turtles are reptiles. Which means they have to breathe with their lungs. So they simply have to come up to breathe. Since this can get tedious, they have been made so that they can hold their breath for a LONG time! Up to 5 hours has been recorded!

These weird, but adorable little fish, called Cowfish face a problem. Living at mid-sea level (164 ft. down), poses the problem of...you guessed it: Breathing. But these amazing little guys have been created with..........yup, gills. These handy little things allow the Cowfish to breathe easy, 164 feet down!
Which is really just the beginning...........now, for the quiz! No Cheating!
