We all know food, along with the other needs, is essential to an animals' surviving. On this page we'll look at 5 different animals, and see how they get about meeting their need for food.

The raccoon has amazing strength-compared to its size-those tiny feet, and claws in the picture, scarce depict its shocking strength.
The fact that it can climb well, helps it to get to food it other-wise wouldn't have been able to get to. It is also very intelligent, which helps it figure out locks, and doors, and makes it extremely easy for it to open containers to get food. Because of its strength, it is able to do all sorts of things, from getting out of traps and cages, to opening doors and windows to get to food.

Besides having collected a few quills from these extrodanary creature, my dog got around 25 quills stuck in his face.
So how does it go about getting food? The fact that is has thousands of quills all over itself means that it can defend its food. Also, since it mainly eats inner tree bark, and twigs, its food supply is quite extensive, provided the trees will quit vanishing!

Squirrels eat about 20 acorns per day. So how are they equipped to eat all this food? Since they have very sharp teeth, they can cut nuts open that no other animal can open. They have superb memories, and can remember where they hide food, or where they found good places where food is in abundance.
The Meerkat! Meerkats eat a lot of things-from snakes and lizards, to moths, and bugs. One thing that helps it find food is its intense curiosity-it isn't afraid of anything It approaches snakes, people, and even poisonous lizards. They are immune to most kinds of poison, they have good smelling, and eyesight. All of this put together, make it quite easy to find food.

The bear, specifically the Black bear (as shown above), has the easiest, and yet the hardest time finding food.

The hardest-people are hunting it like crazy, therefore it is hard for it to get food because of the areas in which humans are invading-the natural hunting areas of this black beauty.
It eats quite a lot of things, and its wide range of diet helps it to find food easily-at some times. Especially when the salmon migrate through the rivers and streams near the bears region.
